KVI 2013 Leadership retreat
From August 27th through August 31st, 2013, over a dozen young Congolese took part in the inaugural edition of the Leadership Retreat organized by the Kimpa Vita Institute.

The Institute

A DRC where:
– The enormous wealth of the Congo benefits the sons and daughters of the Congo and Africa at-large.
– The Congolese people control and determine the affairs of the Congo.

Forming a group of engaged, mobilized and organized young Congolese leaders in the Diaspora. These young leaders will have the ability to influence the environment outside of the Congo while supporting the actions of the groups inside the country so they may unite their efforts to enable the DRC to assume its rightful place as a major power on the African continent and throughout the world.

This program will occur every year until a critical mass is achieved whereby social justice change in the Congo becomes inevitable.

If you are Congolese, either born in Congo or have at least one Congolese parent, and that you are between the ages of 18 and 30, you are eligible to apply.

We seek individuals who are: leaders in their community, visionary, passionate, charismatic, open-minded, dedicated, coachable, motivated and reliable. We also seek young leaders who have great communication skills, who are hard working and action oriented.

After the application, the interview & the selection, the last step of the process is to pay the participation fee of $300. The fee covers a 5-nights stay at the retreat center and three-meals a day for the duration of the program. It also includes the opportunity of meeting passionate instructors and other young Congolese leaders.
